As a full-time Security Engineer, you will partner with our Product Engineering, Platform and SRE teams to help us develop secure, scalable, and robust services. You will use your strong skills on both, security and software development to contribute to the implementation and development of existing ASAPP application security capabilities. You should be familiar with secure coding methodologies, code vulnerability detection systems, and live web application protection systems. Last, but not least, you should want to teach (and learn) from everyone on our team! 

This individual will be joining a mature and established Security Engineering team. You will be improving our existing code security pipeline, partnering with cross functional Engineering and Infrastructure teams, and working across ASAPP’s people and technology footprints to design, build, and run secure systems.

What you'll do

  • Advocate developer-centric security best practices throughout ASAPP
  • Perform technical security assessments, code audits, and design reviews
  • Develop and document technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities
  • Conduct research to identify new attack vectors against ASAPP products and services
  • Participate in related penetration testing, red teaming, and other offensive security exercises
What you'll need
  • Experience contributing with Go/Javascript/Python/Mobile applications in production environments for an industry setting
  • Extensive experience identifying potential cybersecurity attack and mitigations across common web and mobile application attack vectors (OWASP Top 10, Mobile Top 10)
  • Deep understanding of web and mobile application technologies
  • Experience building and running applications in Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
What we'd like to see
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Involvement in the Security community and industry participation is a plus
  • Experience in product-oriented environments
  • Experience and familiarity with machine learning development, both from the perspective of an engineer and as an attacker/defender
  • Previous experience doing security on agile/fast startup environments 
  • Experience with cloud native architecture

$170,000 - $190,000 a year
The actual salary may be different depending upon non-discriminatory factors such as qualifications, experience, and other factors permitted by law. For Sales positions: this role is eligible to earn commissions and eligible to participate in ASAPP's equity plan. For Non-Sales positions: this role is eligible to participate in ASAPP's equity plan. The range listed is just one component of ASAPP’s total compensation package; other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives, including the benefits listed above.
