Upwork is hiring a Data Science and Machine Learning Project Specialist - Contract to Hire

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer to complete a project related to data science and machine learning. The successful candidate will work on four distinct projects, each requiring a unique set of skills and understanding in areas such as data preprocessing, linear regression, classification models, cluster analysis, artificial neural networks (ANN), and text mining.

We're looking to complete this project within 3 weeks. Relatively small project, very doable in 3 weeks for an experienced developer.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Data Preprocessing Project**:

- Understand and execute a Jupyter Notebook tutorial on data preprocessing.

- Select and preprocess an unclean dataset or reengineer a clean dataset for preprocessing.

- Document the preprocessing techniques and insights.

2. **Linear Regression and Classification Tree Project**:

- Apply simple and multiple linear regression models on a chosen dataset.

- Perform regression and classification on a provided dataset.

- Discretize continuous data and create a classification tree.

- Analyze model accuracy and document findings.

3. **Classification Models Project**:

- Apply various classification models on a chosen and a provided dataset.

- Perform feature selection, data splitting, and accuracy analysis.

- Compare the performance of different models and create visualizations.

- Summarize the approach and results in a report.

4. **Cluster Analysis, ANN, and Text Mining Project**:

- Perform k-means clustering and hierarchical clustering on the IMDB Dataset.

- Conduct text mining using count vector and TF-IDF vector.

- Implement ANN for classification and compare with other models.

- Preprocess data for ANN and document the process and findings.

The candidate will be responsible for completing this within specified deadlines while maintaining a high standard of integrity and quality.
