Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced freelancer to assist with a complex research project in the field of nuclear engineering. The project involves the study of severe accidents in light water reactors, specifically focusing on the behavior of fuel pins, eutectic reactions, and density stratification in the presence of molten materials.
Skills and Expertise Required:
Proficiency in the Moving Particle Semi-implicit (MPS) method.
Experience with simulation software, including Visual Studio and Fortran.
Expertise in post-processing using Paraview.
Strong knowledge of computational fluid dynamics.
Familiarity with multi-phase and multi-component simulations.
Understanding of eutectic reactions and phase changes in materials.
Project Details:
The research project includes the following tasks:
Conduct simulations using the MPS method to model the behavior of molten materials and eutectic reactions.
Analyze simulation results to understand core degradation processes and molten pool behavior.
Develop and implement phase change models for the melting process.
Study the eutectic reactions between various materials, including uranium-based fuels and iron-based claddings.
Investigate density stratification in the molten pool.
Validate the simulation results through experiments and theoretical solutions.
Assist in finding a suitable conference in the USA for publishing the research work.
Budget and Milestones:
We have a budget allocated for this project, and we are open to discussing compensation based on experience and qualifications. We can also set milestones for different phases of the project, including simulation, analysis, and conference submission.
How to Apply:
If you have the expertise and experience required for this project, please submit your proposal. Include your relevant qualifications, past experience with similar projects, and references if available.
Interview and Selection:
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview to discuss the project in more detail. We will consider factors such as expertise, communication skills, and availability when selecting the freelancer.
We look forward to collaborating with a talented individual who can contribute to this important research project.
