Werehyenas are typically from the folklore of African regions, mostly in the northern and eastern areas. Despite having a similar name to werewolves, their mythology is actually a little different. 

They're called a few different names, including bouda, bultungin, or ngadza.

Werehyenas are typically drawn as bipedal hyena monsters, but some legends say that the human will simply transform into just the animal and return to their normal form at dawn.
