In the ruined Chernobyl Nuclear Station, after an explosion in the core of the ruins, a scavenger guard team has penetrated to the Nuclear Core where they fight the final battle against creatures that have been mutated by radiation. The mutants' skin is charred black, peeling off, and glowing with internal heat. In a climactic battle, the guards use a pulse laser guns to overload the mutants internal systems. One soldier guard detonates the core manually. (The mutants shriek, disintegrating in a burst of anti-light:1.9). Only a few guards survive. The station is collapsing. Fire, electric flashes, and water fill the chamber.As the guards ascend the surface tunnels, they discover more mutated humans, but these seem dormant, almost peaceful. The surviving guards finally destroy the mutants forever. (The guards' leader sets off a small nuclear device, destroying the station in a massive explosion like a supernova:1.9). The survivors run out of the burning power station into a freezing cold icy, bleak, and desolate landscape.

Alovia is 25 and beautiful but her face is scarred and she looks extremely tired. She stares from the small balcony of her damp mouldy apartment on the 136th floor of a huge dilapidated building. The building is part of an enormous chemical factory where she works. (Down below lines of poor people are marching into the ugly factory:1.9) which belches out toxic smoke and flames. The city below is made up of countless apartment tower blocks as far as the eye can see. The scene is depressing and bleak.

A liminal indoor water park, flooded and silent. Pastel water slides—off-white, teal, and pink—hang overhead, gushing water into a shallow pool covering the glossy white tile floor. Mist drifts through the humid air. Everything is damp and still. Floating slowly away from the camera is a giant yellow duck statue, partially submerged. Its head is turned slightly to the side, revealing a huge, exaggerated toothy grin stretched across its plastic face. Its eyes are empty—glossy and hollow, with no pupils or detail. The duck drifts through the water quietly, trailing small ripples behind it. The EXIT sign above a distant doorway glows red through the fog.
