Alovia is 25 and beautiful but her face is scarred and she looks extremely tired. She stares from the small balcony of her damp mouldy apartment on the 136th floor of a huge dilapidated building. The building is part of an enormous chemical factory where she works. (Down below lines of poor people are marching into the ugly factory:1.9) which belches out toxic smoke and flames. The city below is made up of countless apartment tower blocks as far as the eye can see. The scene is depressing and bleak.
