Here's how things can go: I will have an idea for a mug set as it’s a product we intend to sell. I’ll decide we want to develop a few for the spring, and I check the bestsellers in the marketplace and being inspired by a certain concept that I see, I would want to create something similar but our own version with our own art and quotes. I may screenshot the listing, and with your help think of a concept.
In this case I will ask you what concept I’m thinking about and using our resources and your talents, you will find, create, and manipulate premade art to fit into each mug in the set. We have lots of art elements downloaded on our files, and we have subscriptions to art websites like Creative Fabrica. Also, the company is willing to purchase art elements that may be used. On top of this, you can create your own or manipulate some that we work with. I will give my opinion, but likely value your opinion more than my own. I may make suggestions, we fix it up, then we can share them with our partner suppliers to start production. You will play with fonts, color styles, placements and more. Also, we would create a custom package for that product. Something that reflects our brand, and the nature of the product itself. Likewise - and this will be the easier part of this task - we may mock it up after we get example images from our supplier. The end result: we take our chances and get hundreds made in the hopes that we can sell them on our website, wholesale clients, and marketplaces! For our company’s success it’s vital that I have a true professional join our team.
🎯 Helpful attributes of this hire:
- Strong graphic design skills, skills with fonts
- Fluent English, and an understanding of American culture
- Prior experience in designing new products and creating packaging
- Preferably full time, but at least giving us 25+ hours per week and being able to scale hours to meet deadlines.
- In some cases, back and forth communication in New York time (Est). So we can develop concepts quicker when it comes to small edits or opinions.
- Ability to apply our branding style to newly created packaging
- AI & Midjourney knowledge is a huge plus
- Communication and job objectives would be done through Slack
- Design styles we mostly do: animals, watercolor art, quotes, artistic elements, etc

Required request: Look at the 3rd and 4th attached images of mug sets. Using these as inspiration, please briefly create an art example for one similar type of mug in a new set that has a beautiful spring or summer theme. Make it have a quote component to it, whether it's one word or more. I don't want you doing an entire project, but you can create an art that would go in the front on one of the mugs in a set. Show me your skills and creativity. Creativity is a very important part of this role.
