Upwork is hiring a AI/ML Architect - Contract to Hire

We are looking for an experienced AI/ML architect, who has built AI/ML practices from scratch, and is updated with the latest trends in this field. We would love someone with a strong background in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, with proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI/ML, such as Python, R, or TensorFlow. Experience in building and deploying ML models in production environments, knowledge of cloud-based AI/ML services and platforms, and familiarity with big data technologies and data engineering, will be highly appreciated.

Ideally this is someone who can:

1. Design Solutions: Work with us to understand our business, our key problem statements, and the competitive landscape, to design end-to-end AI/ML solutions that align with business objectives.

2. Select the right Technology: Identify suitable AI/ML technologies, frameworks, and tools based on our specific requirements and constraints, considering factors such as data volume, complexity, and real-time processing needs.

3. Advise on Data Management: Help us choose the right data collection, storage, and preprocessing strategies.

4. Develop Models: Build Oversee the development of ML models, including selecting appropriate algorithms, feature engineering, and hyper parameter tuning

5. Design for Scalability and Performance: Architect systems that can scale to handle large volumes of data and provide efficient real-time predictions. Optimize AI/ML pipelines for speed and performance.

6. Take care of Integration: Integrate AI/ML components into existing software systems or applications, ensuring seamless functionality and compatibility.

7. Advise on Security, Privacy, Ethics and Fairness: Address security and privacy concerns related to AI/ML solutions. Protect sensitive data and implement security best practices. Ensure that AI/ML models adhere to ethical guidelines and promote fairness and transparency in decision-making.

8. Build Model Monitoring and Maintenance protocols: Establish monitoring mechanisms to track model performance over time and implement strategies for model retraining and maintenance.
