I completed an Ironman triathlon in September and am looking for 2 tattoo concepts to commemorate the experience. Iâve had asthma my entire life, making running-biking-swimming a nightmare as a child. Completing the Ironman represents so much to me and my family personally.
I really donât like the Ironman branded tattoos (search âIronman triathlon tattoosâ for examples) and am looking for something a little more custom not at all branded. Iâm hoping for someone to help me fill in the blanks, because I only have half of an idea at this point.
All experiences welcome! All ideas welcome! Iâm a blank slate, honestly. Please feel free to offer hourly rate and proposed hours, or a total cost.

Hereâs where Iâm at. I have the chemical compound for Runnerâs High on my right calf. This tattoos was my symbol for beating asthma after my first marathon 10 years ago. One of my ideas is to add to this where thereâs an opening on the right side of the tattoo. I like the idea of it blending with the hexagons from the original tattoo, and somehow melding swim-bike-run.
Thought is a hexagon with 140.6 in the middle (Imperial font like the Ironman triathlon logo font) with minimalist swim-bike-run symbols off the sides - like a chemical compound. See attached for my very poor attempt. Ideally straight line designs (not curved) to match the chemistry look and feel. The swim-bike-run can be anything representative of the three.
The other idea is to make this addition the outline of the Ironman (marvel character) arc reactor, see attached, but instead of a circle, a hexagon to match the current tattoo I have. If possible to integrate swim-bike-run symbols in someway into the arc reactor design, that would be excellent. If you donât think fits on side of calf maybe baseball size or bigger, then considering above the knee on my right quad. Another idea could even be to make the hexagon arc tractor shape a bike wheel or chain, just throwing stuff out there at this point.
Open to all ideas and creativity. Open to push back. Open to left field concepts. Open to your expertise! Only ask is that itâs fairly subtle and does itâs best to look like it fits with the current tattoo.
Size-wise, at least baseball size perhaps bigger. Just donât want lines to blur together over time. Looking for a black ink tattoo, no color if I can help it. Open to suggestions there as well.
This job is already closed and no longer accepting applicants, sorry.
