Stedu Association (a 501(c)(3) youth-led non-profit organization that is focused on making STEM education more understandable and easier to approach regardless of age, gender, and nationality) is seeking a knowledgeable machine learning expert to serve as a lecturer for a non-profit's upcoming introduction to machine learning course.
The course is scheduled to start on March 2nd and will cover the fundamental concepts and techniques in machine learning. The lecturer will be in charge of 6 lectures that cover the fundamentals of machine learning. The lectures will be held on March 4th (Background on AI and the creation of machine learning. Applications of Machine Learning, intro to neural networks), March 5 - Classification: Learning (ie. Supervised/Inductive Learning, Unsupervised Learning, and Reinforcement Learning ) and Loss Function, decision tree
March 6- Using Data Sets: Training - Validation - Testing, March 7- Linear Regression, March 8- Bayesian Learning (i.e MAP, Bayes, Theorem), March 9- Fitting Data Models (ie. overfitting-cross-validation, etc.) and Practice.
Closing March 16 (Students will mainly be high school students however we expect college students to sign - up also alongside with adults).
The ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and their application. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential for delivering engaging lectures and facilitating interactive discussions with course participants. Relevant skills and qualifications include:
- Proficiency in machine learning algorithms
- Experience in data analysis and modeling
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain complex concepts in a simplified manner
- Prior teaching or training experience
- We are not able to provide work visa or student visas. Lecturer must be able to legally work in the United States (ie. US citizen, etc)
