Upwork is hiring a Business Developer for a Clinical Research Site Network - Contract to hire

We are launching a multi-specialty Clinical Trials Site Network with an initial focus on dermatology for Phase 2 – 3 studies. Other therapeutic areas will include obesity, diabetes, asthma, hypertension, and neurodegenerative disease.

We are partnering with several private physician practices to launch research activities within their practices.

We are looking for an accomplished sales and business development professional to help accelerate our sales. Candidates should have experience acquiring research studies for clinical trial sites. The role also involves business development activities to recruit physicians to participate in our investigators program.

Specific areas of experience include:

STUDY ACQUISITION

Acquiring research studies from Pharma sponsors and CROs, including:

•Developing leads and securing study opportunities by accessing your network and industry connections to gain access to target customers

• Using social media and other platforms to connect and build relationships

• Applying for studies through direct sales to sponsors and CROs as well as through online tools and marketplaces

• Completing feasibility questionnaires

• Assisting in site selection visits

• Helping develop and negotiate study budgets and contracts

• Ability to complete study startup regulatory documentation and completing source documentation a plus

INVESTIGATOR ACQUISITION

Assisting in sales and marketing activities to attract physicians to participate in our investigator program.

• Assist in outreach and communications to physicians

• Help deliver marketing webinars including both logistics of setting up the events and participating in delivering sales messages during the sessions

• Working with leadership to evaluate physicians for admission into the program

• Assisting with physician negotiations and contract related activities

Initially this will be a part-time project position with the potential to turn into a full-time role as Chief Revenue Officer with equity participation and cash bonus.
