Responsibilities:
Domain Expertise: Act as the primary source of healthcare domain knowledge for the team, interpreting medical concepts, terminologies, and clinical workflows to guide data analytics and predictive modeling initiatives.
Model Validation: Collaborate with the data science team to validate predictive models developed for healthcare applications, ensuring that they align with medical guidelines and produce reliable outcomes.
Data Analysis Support: Provide critical insights during data analysis to identify clinically relevant patterns, correlations, and potential confounding factors that could impact model performance or healthcare outcomes.
Medical Questions: Answer complex medical questions that arise during the course of data analysis and model development, supporting evidence-based decision-making.
Ethical Considerations: Ensure that all data analysis and model validation activities comply with ethical standards, patient privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and other relevant healthcare data protection requirements.
Data Quality Assurance: Work with the data team to assess and verify the quality and accuracy of healthcare data used for modeling, identifying and addressing any issues that may affect model results.
Collaboration: Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and other cross-functional team members to develop comprehensive healthcare solutions and improve patient outcomes.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant healthcare regulations and guidelines (e.g., FDA regulations, clinical practice guidelines) to ensure model validation and data analytics adhere to the latest standards.
Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in healthcare data analytics, predictive modeling, and related technologies, bringing innovative ideas to the team.
Documentation: Document all domain-related decisions, validation methodologies, and medical insights for future reference and compliance purposes.
Requirements:
Medical Degree (MD) or an equivalent advanced degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g., Nursing, Pharmacy) A Ph.D. in a healthcare domain will be a plus.
Strong expertise in healthcare data analytics, medical terminology, clinical workflows, and health-related datasets (e.g., electronic health records, medical imaging data).
Proven experience in model validation and the ability to critically assess and validate predictive models used in healthcare applications.
In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, ethics, and patient privacy requirements, especially in the context of data analysis and predictive modeling.
Familiarity with statistical analysis methods and tools commonly used in healthcare research and data analytics.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively explain complex medical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
