We are seeking an experienced Biomaterial Engineer to lead the development of an innovative, sustainable alternative to the current materials used in pet flea and tick collars. Our goal is to replace the chemical plastic/polymers with a 100% natural and biodegradable material while maintaining the efficacy of ingredient diffusion comparable to existing products on the market. This project aims to create a pet-friendly, environmentally sustainable product without compromising on the protective qualities against fleas and ticks.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive research on natural polymers and biodegradable materials that can serve as effective carriers for the active ingredients used in flea and tick prevention.
Develop and test prototypes to assess the compatibility, safety, and efficacy of selected natural materials in releasing active ingredients over an extended period.
Evaluate the environmental impact and biodegradability of the chosen materials, ensuring they meet industry standards for sustainability and ecological safety.
integrate the new material into the design and manufacturing processes of the pet collar.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation on research findings, prototype testing, and final product specifications for regulatory approval and patent applications.
