We are looking for a seasoned Azure Data Engineer to join our data solutions team.
The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts, particularly dimensional modeling, and will be responsible for large scale data processing tasks, data mart creation, and data visualization.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain robust data architectures, databases, and processing systems based on dimensional modeling principles.
- Implement data pipelines using Azure Databricks for large scale data processing tasks.
- Write complex SQL queries for data transformation and handle data manipulation using scripting languages such as Python or Scala within the Databricks environment.
- Design and implement data marts or cubes using Azure Analysis Services. Knowledge in SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) is highly beneficial.
-Develop and maintain Tabular Data Models in Analysis Services.
-Write DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating complex measures and calculations in the data model.
-Work with Power BI to design dashboards and reports for data visualization and business intelligence reporting.
Required Skills & Experience:
-Bachelor's or Masterâs degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
-Deep understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling.
-Extensive experience with Azure Databricks and Azure Analysis Services.
-Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and scripting languages such as Python or Scala.
-Experience with data mart or cube creation and the Tabular Data Model used in Analysis Services.
-Strong knowledge of DAX for creating complex measures and calculations.
-Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization and reporting purposes.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-Prior experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
-Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
-Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
-Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
