We are an early-stage startup looking for a versatile Data Scientist or Software Engineer to scrape creator forums and analyze questions frequently asked by creators. You will play a pivotal role in a research project aimed at understanding the challenges and needs of creators across various fields. This is a unique opportunity to shape the direction of our platform and make a tangible difference in the lives of creators globally.

Responsibilities

- Identify platforms & forums where creators ask questions and collaborate with one-another

- Develop web scraping tools targeting creator forums.

- Collect, clean, and analyze the data to extract fields such as:

-- Question asked by a creator

-- Category of question (we don’t know what the categories might be, so this will be a discovery!)

-- Timestamp, if available

-- Creator specialty / field, if available

-- Social Media Platform referenced, if relevant and available

- Create visualizations to convey EDA (Exploratory Data Analysis) findings on the scraped data.

- Document your code and procedures for future maintainability.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, or related field.

- Proficiency in a programming language suitable for both data analysis and web scraping, preferably Python.

- Familiarity with web scraping frameworks such as Scrapy, BeautifulSoup, or Selenium is a plus.

- Demonstrated interest in the creator economy or experience as a creator is a plus.

- Understanding of data storage solutions like SQL databases or cloud-based storage.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
