We are seeking an experienced PCB designer to create a high-quality, multi-functional PCB for a canine fitness tracker. The PCB will integrate various sensors and modules to track activity, location, and environmental conditions. The selected engineer will be responsible for the full design cycle, from schematic design to prototype manufacturing files.

Key Components & Features to Integrate:

Power management for a single-cell battery

Microphone and IMU sensors for activity monitoring

GPS and LoRa modules for location tracking and communication

BLE for connectivity with mobile devices

USB-C for charging and data transfer

Environmental sensing (temperature, altimeter/barometer)

Critical Tasks:

Design of the PCB: Create a compact and efficient layout to accommodate all components while maintaining ergonomic form factor for canine wearability.

Prototype Manufacturer and Assembly Files: Generate all necessary files compatible with JLCPCB specifications, including Gerber files, BOM, and pick-and-place files.

RF Design for Antennas: Design and integrate antennas for GPS, BLE, and LoRa, ensuring strong signal integrity and efficient power usage.

Load Calculation: Perform power budget analysis to ensure long battery life and optimize power management.

Component Selection: Choose components that balance performance, cost, and availability, adhering to the outlined specifications.

Impedance Matching: Ensure that all RF paths are correctly impedance-matched for maximum efficiency.

Multi-Protocol Integration: Implement and test communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, BLE, LoRa) ensuring reliable multi-sensor and module integration.

Skills Required:

Proficiency in PCB design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad)

Experience with RF circuit and antenna design

Strong understanding of power management for battery-operated devices

Familiarity with JLCPCB manufacturing and assembly process

Knowledge of multi-protocol communication and interface design

Ability to produce manufacturing-ready documentation

Deliverables:

Schematic design files

PCB layout files (Gerber, drill, etc.)

BOM (Bill of Materials)

Assembly files for SMT (Surface Mount Technology)

Simulation and analysis reports for load, signal, and power integrity

Documentation of design choices and testing procedures.

Communication:

The designer will be expected to provide regular updates on progress, participate in daily 15 minute standups and scheduled meetings as needed, and be responsive to feedback throughout the project.

Please provide a portfolio of your previous PCB designs, especially those related to wearables or IoT devices, along with your application.
