Job Title: Junior Programmer/Analyst at CIS, BWH
Position Overview:
• We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Junior Programmer/Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in organizing, cleaning, and analyzing extensive datasets collected from healthcare facilities across seven countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. This role involves collaboration on large-scale health systems reform efforts globally and contributing to impactful journal publications and presentations through data analysis.
• The role requires expertise in programming languages like Stata, R, or Python, along with a strong grasp or a willingness to learn healthcare and cost analysis terminology, particularly within Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing (TDABC).
Time Commitment:
• The position requires 15-20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. We seek individuals committed to this role for at least 1-2 years to drive projects from inception to publication and completion.
Responsibilities:
• Clean, format, and organize large volumes of healthcare data collected through CommCare and other sources for accuracy and consistency.
• Develop scripts, algorithms, and workflows to automate data cleaning and manipulation processes.
• Collaborate with cross-site teams, utilizing statistical methods, matching algorithms, and machine learning techniques for data analyses.
• Apply TDABC principles to analyze cost data, identify inefficiencies, and propose healthcare system improvement strategies.
• Create comprehensive reports, visualizations, and dashboards for stakeholders.
• Implement and refine TDABC models, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field; relevant proficiencies are acceptable for current students.
• Proficiency in R, Stata, Python, or similar language(s) for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience handling complex datasets using SQL or similar tools.
• Track record in statistical techniques, matching algorithms, and machine learning models, preferably in healthcare datasets.
• Strong communication skills for multidisciplinary team collaboration and diverse audience presentations.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Preferred: Understanding of healthcare terminology and cost analysis.
