Roles we have hired for previously

• Recruiting and MLAB Lead: Responsible for optimizing Redwood's recruiting strategy and processes along with engaging heavily in programs that discover and develop great candidates such as Constellation, the Machine Learning for Alignment Bootcamp (MLAB), and more. 
• Special Projects Lead: Assist with a variety of projects involving Redwood recruitment, community building, and internal systems optimization, and Constellation operations.
• Constellation Operations: Make Constellation a thriving, highly productive research center by working quickly, balancing competing priorities, building robust systems, and grappling with ambiguous problems.
• Business Operations: Ensure our corporate infrastructure (finance, HR, legal) is solid and evolving to support our rapid growth. 

We expect staff to work on-site. Our office is in downtown Berkeley, thirteen seconds from the nearest BART stop. Compensation depends on experience and role, but typically ranges from $100k - $170k/year. We offer catered lunches and dinners, and cover PPO health, dental, and vision insurance. We will consider international applicants who need visas.

About Us

Redwood Research is a research organization with the mission of aligning superhuman AI. In addition to our primary work of applied AI alignment research, Redwood hosts and operates Constellation, a shared office space we created to foster knowledge-sharing and collaboration between longtermist organizations. People from the following organizations often work from the space: Paul Christiano’s Alignment Research Center and Open Philanthropy.
