WHAT GATHER IS BUILDING AND WHY
Gather lets you have all of your data at your fingertips, just like your photos, videos, texts and emails are today. Gather's app enables you to download your data from across the internet, create visualizations, and share your findings with others. Gather is building towards a future in which users take their rightful place in the center of the data ecosystem. Users will exert their influence not only over their own data, but also over entities that wish to operate on their data. Because of Gather, entire new generations of apps will emerge, consumers will never feel "locked into" a service/company, and users will gain a substantial share of the data economy.
Position overview: We’re looking for an entrepreneurial AI/ML engineer to lead Gather’s efforts to develop the definitive personal AI assistant - one that would combine the problem-solving skills of GPT with Gather's deep context about your life. This AI assistant could remind you of events from the past, get insights about the present and make decisions about the future! In this role, you will be expected to have a keen interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and staying current with the latest developments in a rapidly changing field. You will collaborate with a diverse team of software engineers, data scientists, and designers to apply AI to solve real-world problems and change the future for consumers.
You will:
- Keep up with the latest development in Generative AI (reading latest papers, be current on new developments and product trends)
-> Have exemplary technical research chops. Evaluate level of effort for use cases described above and deliver demos one use case at a time
-> Be a hands-on tinkerer, be willing to experiment with new technology and code. Push our thinking on state-of-the-art possibilities with AI and be able to brainstorm with CTO, CPO, CEO etc.
-> Be creative and communicate effectively understand the full context of GATHER’s vision and potential use cases.
-> Think strategically and like a product manager. Lead a small team to deliver a product to make the full bot/assistant launch successful -> exhibit leadership and some management experience.
Relevant skills sets:
Bachelor’s degree or several years of experience in computer science, data science, software development, or another related field; a master’s degree is recommendedSolid understanding of common programming languages used in AI, such as Python, Java, C++, and Advanced knowledge of statistical and algorithmic models as well as of fundamental mathematical conceptsExperience working with large data sets and writing efficient code capable of processing large data streams at speedFamiliarity with deep learning and machine learning algorithms and the use of popular AI/ML frameworksExcellent communication skills
