We are seeking an Operational Research Engineer to join our team at Yassir to work closely with

our ML and Data science teams on the next generation of our dispatch and Dynamic surge

systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining our dynamic surge

and dispatch systems, ensuring that they are optimized to deliver the best possible experience to

our customers and drivers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement models and algorithms for predicting demand patterns and driver availability in real-time, using statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and software engineers, to design, implement, and improve the surge and dispatch systems.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the pricing and dispatch systems, and develop and execute experiments to test hypotheses.
  • Build and maintain tools and dashboards to monitor system performance and identify issues proactively, and work with other teams to resolve any problems that arise.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and industry developments in operational research and transportation, and apply best practices and innovative solutions to improve the surge and dispatch systems
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field. (PhD in Operational Research is a big plus)
  • Strong experience in developing and deploying predictive models and algorithms in a production environment, using languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience with optimization and simulation techniques, including linear programming, integer programming, and Monte Carlo simulation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to derive insights from complex data and communicate them effectively to different stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics concepts and their application to operational research problems is a plus.
  • Experience with big data platforms such as Hadoop and Spark is a plus.
