Perplexity AI is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our team and help us develop and deploy efficient and powerful search and ranking systems. You will be responsible for developing performant backend retrieval systems while working with machine learning and language models. If you have experience working on search and ranking problems and looking to push the limits, this is a perfect opportunity to apply those skills to a next generation product.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and optimize search and retrieval systems
- Scale architectures while optimizing performance and accuracy
- Improve performance over time while working closely with data and machine learning models
- Strong programming skills, with versatility across the backend stack
- Track record of working with search and ranking problems
- Enthusiasm and independence, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks
- A passion for solving challenging problems
- 4+ years industry experience
