Enlighten is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our team. The Data Scientist will establish and implement mathematical, problem-solving, and coding skills to manage a wide variety of data and extract valuable insights. Data will involve structured and unstructured data from information advantage activities in support of multi-domain operations. Work is performed in a hybrid role with some on-site customer support.
Capabilities
- The data scientist will utilize their expertise in machine learning, statistical data analytics, and predictive analytics to help create and implement data solutions and analytics for diverse Department of Defense (DoD) data sets
- Responsible for the creation of innovative methodologies for extracting key parameters from structured and unstructured data coming from various sensors
- Capable of applying the latest technologies in machine learning, data mining, and predictive analytics to correlate disparate datasets and events, and derive value
- Experience in data mining, natural language processing, and sentiment analysis of social media datasets
- Performs project assignments characterized as highly unstructured and complex, having little definition or clarity
- Systematically design analytical approaches to organizing research into segments and coordinating input from other sources such as subject matter experts from the problem's substantive area
- Defines the nature of the problem or clarifies issues through extensive coordination, research, and data collection
- Renders expert judgment concerning the credibility, responsiveness to directives/objectives, and soundness of models and other analytical techniques
- Prepares reports and briefings that summarize results derived from documentation, assumptions, facts, and approaches
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently with little input, and as a part of a team
- Other duties as assigned
- Work a hybrid schedule with the local Enlighten team members
- A current Secret level U.S. Government clearance is required and therefore all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. Can also consider candidates with a TS clearance as well.
- 5 years of Data Science or similar experience with Bachelors in related field; OR 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Strong familiarity with machine learning, data mining, dimensionality reduction, and related analytics methods (e.g., clustering, sequences, networks, time series, deep learning, regression analysis, time series, probabilistic models, supervised classification and unsupervised learning, statistical analytics, etc.).
- Experience with mathematical programming languages such as Python and R and their data science libraries.
- Experience with using business intelligence tools (e.g. Jupyter, Tableau, Amazon Sagemaker)
- Familiar with scalable distributed data processing, management, and visualization tools.
- Strong mathematical background (linear algebra, calculus, probability and statistics).
- Must be able to work in a hybrid role with some on-site customer interaction.
- Experience with large scale machine learning model generation
- Experience with DoD data types and current DoD Data Strategies
