Come work with Shield AI’s AI Foundations team as a Network Specialist! We are a core group that deals with most aspects of the software stack. We integrate with all of the domains in our business (ME, EE, SWE, DevOps, SysOps, Embedded, Cloud, etc...) and get to work on some really exciting projects. You will be a part of cross-functional teams that solve problems with some of the best and kindest in the business. You will be contributing to a safer future for soldiers and civilians while you learn more about the business.
What you’ll do:
- You will work with multiple teams in order to help expand our business horizons.
- Daily tasks will mainly be designing systems and diagnosing network issues at layers 2, 3, and 4.
- Maintain highly performant services for distributed embedded systems.
- Educate others about networking best practices.
- You will spend time with the teams in order to incubate new projects and come up with elegant solutions.
- You will work closely with a broad variety of teams to solve problems in real-time.
- You will spend time working on ideas for the future of Shield AI and help shape the future of the technical stack.
- You will work with brilliant, yet kind, engineers and scientists in order to solve cross functional problems.
- Connecting robots to other systems and dealing with coordination of data between them
- Work with data streaming over RF links
- Designing and implementing new networks based on functional needs
- Contribute to APIs that enable our business initiatives
- Working with AI teams to accomplish larger cross-team goals
- SysOps / DevOps at the edge
- Work with integrating with and conforming to customers’ diverse networking setups
- 5+ years of experience in C++ and network programming
- 7+ years of diverse network design and analysis
- Experience with IPv4 and IPv6
- History of C++ and network
- Contribute to APIs
- Shipped and supported a software product before
- Some Python experience
- Knowledge of Linux kernel packet processing
- You have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others
- Bachelor of Science
- Computer Science degree
- Robotics or game engine experience
- Video streaming experience
- Video compression experience
Total compensation: Salary within range listed above + Bonus + Benefits + Equity (if applicable)
Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. Information on the benefits offered is here. All offers are contingent on a cleared background check.
Location guidelines-
Onsite = 5 days/week
Remote = Remote but able to come to the office as requested for business needs
