 About the team

The Audio Analytics team operates within the Machine Learning Engineering group that develop solutions to process audio communications for the Smarsh Enterprise Conduct product.

This team makes extensive use of GPU acceleration to process audio streams to identify spoken languages, transcribe these languages to text and identify the participants.

The team also leverage multiple cloud vendor speech-to-text products to provide greater language support.

Essential Functions


Product Quality
  • Championing Quality across the Audio Analytics product group
  • Establish Quality and automation goals for the product group, Quality plans by-product with no-go authority on releases based on Quality criteria.
  • Drive the Quality and automation roadmap and implementation of standards, methods, metrics, and procedures ensuring and evaluating the Quality and automation of our software products.
  • Establish a Quality measurement system via (ideally automated) dashboards or similar.
  • Lead and instill a “sense of urgency” for product and process improvement to meet and exceed customer requirements

Product Development
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring for engineers in the team.
  • Lead the design and development of the Audio Analytics solution.
  • Build reusable code and libraries that ensure best possible usability, performance, Quality, and responsiveness.
  • Remove obstacles that prevent teams from achieving their goals
  • Transform Engineering practices to achieve the strategic goal of new code deployed in Production multiple times a week via Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines.

Team Development & Hiring
  • Hiring outstanding engineers and retaining top talent.
  • A supportive collaborator who can offer and hear constructive feedback.

Stake Holder Management
  • Collaborate with Research, Data Science, Product Management, Program Management and other stakeholders in prioritizing the right set of Quality initiatives to meet business goals.
  • Collaborate with peer engineering leaders and architects in Quality strategy development and execution
Technology Requirements
  • Minimum 14+ years of Software Engineering, 4+ years in technical leadership/Management
  • Has a strong technical background and highly outcome-oriented mindset in Software Development, Quality engineering and Automation
  • Good experience in Python, Java and Java Enterprise technology applications architecture, design, development, and support
  • Strong experience in Quality assurance of an enterprise-class SaaS product
  • Strong experience in Automated Testing of backend and front-end driven products
  • Expertise in building Micro-Service based architectures, Containerization & Cloud Technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in building and motivating large global teams.
  • Experience on SCRUM methodology and operation in an AGILE development environment
  • Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle, DevOps (build, Continuous Integration, Continuous deployment tools) and best practices.
  • Cloud Native Abstraction technologies like Kubernetes or equivalent highly desirable
