We build products that bring people together and are a small team focusing on individual responsibility and rapid development. We are looking for a Sr. Director of Product, Data to join our team.

As Sr. Director of Product, Data you will join an experienced team of product leaders within Tinder. Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, you will be responsible for leading Tinder’s data systems, and ensuring their integrity, compliance and supporting tools and systems for our Analysts and Product Managers.

You will ensure compliance on our data practices and supporting infrastructure, while continuing to advance our analytics systems that enable our teams to improve member experiences through robust quantitative tooling. The team is a group of service oriented, low ego, and high functioning multi-functional team of Engineers, Product Managers, and Analysts that want to make an outsize impact by turbocharging the efforts of every other product team in the company.

Where you’ll work: This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration three days per week. This position is located in San Francisco, CA.

In this role, you will:

  • Learn the dynamics of the Tinder team and business, and develop a deep understanding of the needs of our consumers - both internal and external
  • Lead and develop the Product team that runs data and tools at Tinder, creating and leading performant data organizations, handling data delivery and analytics tools, data warehousing and data lakes
  • In this role, you will be responsible for all areas of the data lifecycle across the enterprise, including data strategy, data architecture, data supply chain management, data governance, business analytics and insights, and data science, by understanding compliance requirements and Tinder’s business needs
  • You will operate data platforms with consistent, reliable, quality data, in compliance with security and regulatory policies
  • Collaborate with Tinder feature teams to anticipate their needs, and help Tinder make strategic technology bets to position itself for world-class stability, agility and delivery. Partnering closely with Analytics, Product Managers, ML Engineers and Data Engineers
  • Develop a comprehensive roadmap to deliver on these bets with clearly prioritized results and achievements
  • Communicate your roadmap, strategic bets and results, as appropriate, to a spectrum of audiences, from team members, PM peers and executives
  • Deliver QoQ results from your roadmap, and orchestrate the adoption of new features, processes, and tools across the organization
  • Act as the liaison for Legal, Compliance, Engineering and Business Partners to ensure regulator requirements are met while enabling product capabilities and operability
You Are:

You Have:
  • 10+ years of data leadership in a fast-growing consumer tech, full-stack SaaS, or consulting business
  • 8+ years proven experience leading large scale data systems and data sets
  • Experience implementing data protection and security policies and controls
  • 5 years leading, mentoring, and developing other PMs, and building structure for teams to improve their processes and outcomes
  • Master's or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics or Analytic, MBA preferred
  • Experience defining metrics and making product and strategic decisions based on A/B testing and/or qualitative feedback
  • The ability to assess the impact of a feature not only on end-users but also the platform it’s being built for

$275,000 - $295,000 a year
Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
