You will develop and adapt state-of-the-art models and algorithms, fine-tuning them to deliver exceptional performance in our specific settings. Collaborating closely with product teams, you will seamlessly integrate your models, solutions, and algorithms into our products, ensuring their efficient operation. Furthermore, you will constantly strive to improve the performance of our models, incrementally tracking and enhancing their feature performance. Your contributions will directly impact the overall success of our products and our ability to deliver AI-driven solutions that push the boundaries of what is possible. Responsibilities

1. Drive the Advancement of Computer Vision Systems:

◦ Contribute to the scientific and technological progress of computer vision systems.

◦ Conduct research and explore innovative approaches to enhance the understanding of data semantics, including images, video, text, and audio.

2. Video Understanding:

◦ Work on projects, strategies, and complex problems related to video understanding.

◦ Identify and define short-term and medium-term objectives to drive progress in the field.

3. Independent Project Leadership:

◦ Take ownership of projects and lead them independently.

◦ Collaborate cross-functionally to bridge the gap between research advancements and production teams at BENlabs.

4. Cutting-Edge R&D in Video Understanding:

◦ Plan and execute state-of-the-art research and development activities to advance the state-of-the-art in video understanding.

◦ Focus on areas such as detection, segmentation, classification, and tracking, and potentially explore Visual Audio Language (VAL) Model experience.

5. Collaboration and Concept Development:

◦ Collaborate with researchers and engineers across various BENlabs teams.

◦ Develop experiments, prototypes, and concepts that drive the advancement of state-of-the-art in Video Understanding.

As a Senior AI Research Scientist at BENlabs, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of activities and projects, utilizing your computer vision and video understanding expertise to push the boundaries of AI technology.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. or 4+ years of industry experience: Possess a Ph.D. in Computer Vision, Robotics, Object Tracking, or a related field. Alternatively, have at least 4 years of industry experience as a research scientist specializing in computer vision.
Applied Research Expertise: Demonstrate experience applying research methodologies and findings to solve real-world production problems. Ability to bridge the gap between theoretical advancements and practical implementation.
Effective Research Communication: Exhibit strong communication skills to convey research findings to technical and non-technical audiences effectively. Experience presenting research to peers in conferences or other public forums is highly desirable.
Hands-on Computer Vision Implementation: Showcase practical experience in implementing computer vision algorithms, specifically in areas such as Object Tracking, Video Segmentation, Detection, Classification, or related fields.
Publication Record: Publications in computer vision, AI, computer science, data science, or related technical fields are highly valued and considered advantageous.
Real-world System Building and Data Collection: Have hands-on experience in building real-world systems, including data collection, coding, and evaluation.
Proficiency in Python programming is essential, and familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow is expected.
Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or possess equivalent practical experience.

$134,000 - $164,000 a year

In addition to the expected range listed, this role will be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and location.
