At Pattern Bioscience, we’re tackling antibiotic resistance, one of the biggest public health challenges of our time. We use machine learning and microfluidics to quickly recognize the bacteria causing an infection and to predict which drugs will cure the infection.
We are searching for a creative, data-driven, analytically minded Scientist to join our Assay Research team. This team solves a wide variety of problems, including developing our novel assay technology, developing novel sample prep solutions for different sample types, and working with internal and external collaborators to perform studies using Pattern’s system. You will work with other scientists and associate scientists from a diverse set of fields as well as with hardware engineers and our clinical team.
How You Will Contribute
- Ideate, plan, execute, and analyze experiments in a BSL-2 lab in support of solving challenging problems related to the development of an in vitro diagnostic biochemical assay for the identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing (ID/AST) of bacteria
- Discover or develop new techniques that increase scientific throughput and insights for the whole team
- Use data and analysis to support scientific decisions and to communicate to adjacent teams
- Collaborate with other multi-disciplinary teams (including Manufacturing, Clinical, Chemistry, and Engineering)
- Can plan and execute complex experiments
- Have strong data analysis skills
- Tell cohesive scientific stories through data and analysis
- Demonstrate the pursuit of excellence and expertise in your domain
