Artificial Intelligence (AI)is transforming government. Across Defense, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Sciences, Natural Resources and Regulatory functions- all are recognizing the power of human-machine teaming. Nothing moves in AI and machine learning (ML) without training data, and only high-quality training data can produce accurate and robust AI/ML powered solutions. Creating high quality training data at the scale necessary to meet the demands of our government mission partners is incredibly challenging. Few companies can do it. Even fewer can do it well. Since 2017, Figure Eight Federal has proven it can do both.
In March 2019, Figure Eight was acquired by Appen. Headquartered in the National Capital Region, Figure Eight Federal was created to specifically serve the needs of our government customers. Together, Appen and Figure Eight Federal, combine the best of human and machine intelligence to provide high-quality annotated training data that powers the world’s most innovative machine learning (ML) mission solutions. The Figure Eight platform enables ML and data-driven business solutions to scale across a diverse set of industries including retail, automotive, finance, manufacturing, agriculture, life sciences, robotics, and more. The Figure Eight platform transforms audio, video, text, and images into high-quality annotated data to support a variety of use cases ranging from computer vision and search relevance to data categorization and natural language processing (NLP). Provide onsite analytic support to a growing interactive web application for big-data visualization that covers multiple countries and geographic regions.
Requirements:
- Proficient in PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases and able to insert, process, and run SQL queries to produce geospatial layers
- Proficient in ESRI software to properly symbolize complex data layers and create map projects
- ISSA/TS
- Coordinate with data providers to acquire data relevant to the project; evaluate, clean, and format data sources; and upload data to a PostgresSQL database. Data may include, but are not limited to, commercial satellite imagery, aerial photography, remote sensing data, maps, charts, GIS data sets in vector or raster format, and integrated GIS products
- Run defined spatial queries in the PostgreSQL databases to generate the program’s analytic output. Modify spatial queries as directed by the Sponsor to generate new geospatial layers
- Produce geospatial data, including but not limited to, 3D scene visualizations and animations, change detection products, and feature extractions. The subcontractor shall ensure the data is in a compatible format to be ingested into the web application
- Conduct geospatial and statistical analysis to support the Sponsor. This analysis could include identifying spatial and temporal patterns in event data, threat analysis, and the creation of fused imagery and GIS products to put multiple sources of intelligence in spatial context. This analysis may be expressed in the form of briefing slides, maps, charts, graphs and written summaries
- Analyze geospatial data to identify geospatial and temporal patterns and relationships
- Provide metadata, commented code, user manuals, system requirements, system security plans, and any other documents required for future users to learn, implement, and maintain the products or methodologies developed
- Identify and improve or modernize inefficient geospatial workflows and integrating new ESRI stack technologies to improve delivery of geospatial information to Sponsor analysts. Manage and scale date and services to meet mission needs
