Job Summary:

At Tutor, we believe the core bottleneck to massive robot proliferation is intelligence. Our staff builds novel robot capabilities at the software level, shipping improved behavior to our customer fleet every two weeks.

We are building the AI, data engine, infrastructure, and user interfaces for a new type of industrial robot. Our work requires creativity at the intersection of many areas of technical interest across user interfaces, distributed systems, compilers, perception, and applied math. This is only achievable though close collaboration and problem solving across our 15 person software team.

We work mostly in fully typed Python, with a strong emphasis on correctness and safety. Frontends are written in Typescript. We invest heavily in developer tooling.

At its core, Lilt has always been a machine learning company since its incorporation on March 6, 2015. About Engineering at Lilt

Lilt is a high-performance, large-scale language translation system. We invest in and prioritize workflow (i.e., usability and interface design) and backend AI systems. Since the translation workforce is distributed worldwide, there are interesting cloud engineering problems to solve. We have a strong preference for building our own backend technology, so you’ll be implementing and working with the latest natural language processing (NLP) techniques and ideas.

About the Role

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, UX, you will work with a group of talented, mission-driven colleagues to propose ideas to define, drive, and execute projects on Lilt’s Linguist GUI and App Server–the front door to our translation services. You will enable linguists to deliver truly localized experiences. UX is at the forefront of the company strategy, therefore this is a high-visibility, high-impact role with enormous growth opportunities.

You must be curious, have attention to detail, be energized by a challenging entrepreneurial environment, be comfortable thinking big while also diving deep, and be open to experimenting and iterating on processes as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science in Computer Science (Master preferred) 
• Experience working on large-scale, distributed software systems 
• Experience with, or at least willingness to learn, Node.js and related app server technologies 
• Significant large-scale software engineering experience with Java and related JVM technologies 
• Solid relational database knowledge and significant experience with very large MySQL installations are highly valued 
• Basic knowledge of NLP and machine learning techniques is highly valued
• Professional fluency in English

Who you are:

Are you a machine learning expert looking for applications of this technology that truly enhance the world you live in? Would you like to work on enhancing the safety of aviation by building machines that can understand spoken language? Do you want to own a significant portion of a key system for a new product? If so, you might be a good fit for the natural language processing team working on natural language understanding (semantic parsing) here at Merlin Labs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in development of a speech-to-semantics system optimized for air traffic communication, with a focus on semantic parsing
• Apply existing methods of semantic parsing to improve performance of our system
• Plan and develop experiments to test new ideas for our semantic parser
• Interact with annotators and data collection engineers to expand our systems training and test data
• Collaborate with other NLP engineers to integrate the speech-to-semantics system into our larger pipeline of Merlin's natural language understanding system
• Keep current with research in the semantic parsing community, and communicate discoveries with the rest of the NLP team

• Masters degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Experience building natural language understanding products for research or commercial environment 
• Fluency in Python, competency with C++ and/or Java
• Experience with deep learning techniques, including implementations via frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, ArrayFire, and Tensorflow

• Experience developing production-quality software on teams using tools such as Jira, GitHub, and continuous integration pipelines to facilitate project management, code review, and testing
• Experience with both neural and statistical methods of semantic parsing

About the position: This Internship position is for at least 3 months with flexible start time and can be set up remote, if circumstances require. You will be part of the AI team at VideaHealth, where you will closely work within the team of Machine Learning engineers on a well defined project that is focused, dependent on the candidate, around Deep Learning or Data Science. We are looking for a curious candidate with a background in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science who wants to have an impact on human health. You will learn from a diverse team of experts while being challenged with applied, real-world technical problems involving the development and implementation of state of the art algorithms and the analyses of large datasets.

This is a new function, and our Sr. Data Analyst will be critical to our continued growth and success. In this role, you will partner closely with key stakeholders across the organization to develop dashboards, ad hoc analysis, and multi-unit individual reporting for our internal and external customers. Our ideal candidate is a detailed data excavator, expert communicator, and top-notch analyst. They will be wholly committed to the discovery and development of reporting and insights to drive material performance improvement for the business. We are seeking a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a no-job-too-big or small attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

-Extract data, create reports, monitor KPIs, share insights, create presentations, and make recommendations based on the findings

-Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with stakeholder teams across business units (i.e., Sales, Customer Success, Product, Operations) to develop reporting requirements, identify data source needs, and build the end reports, communicating effectively and efficiently with internal, external, and executive teams

-Leverage database to produce reports, analytics and select campaigns using SQL, Excel, and visualization tools to drive material improvements for the business

-Utilize the end BI tools to create reports, dashboards and visualizations and provide the insight analysis based on the business objective

-Work to identify and recommend prioritization for cross functional reporting and data sourcing required to deliver against the need

-Partner with outside partners to communicate data and reporting/analytics requirements and act as internal project manager to deliver projects

-Ensure appropriate data accessibility across internal, external and practice teams

-Develop both automated, scheduled reporting and accessible dashboards based on user type and access need

-Structure large data sets to find usable information

-Ensure data quality assurance for all reporting and effectively resolve issues with clear communication along the way

Requirements:

-3+ years of proven experience in an analytics role2+ years of experience in a data science role

-High proficiency in SQLKnowledge of relational databasesAbility to both manipulate and leverage data to produce reports and select campaign lists

-Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
