Position Description

Redhorse Corporation is actively seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Enterprise Senior Engineer to support the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) and bring engineering, programmatic, and Data/AI/ML architecture knowledge to the Team. The AI Enterprise Senior Engineer will be a high performing individual who desires to work on the cutting edge of AI and deep learning and make a transformational difference for DoD elements. The Senior Engineer will have a strong understanding of AI/ML and be able to support research and planning on full stack development and research of Large Language Models (LLMs). 

Tasks, duties, and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• From a Senior Engineer perspective, support the development of the CDAO’s Algorithmic Warfare (AW) scaffolding project to include the development of a process/structure for DoD elements to use to develop their own AI/ML models, test them, etc.
• Support various efforts in studying the use of Large Language Models by the DoD.  This may lead to direct support/participation within the CDAO’s LLM Task Force.
• Provide for translation of a system (or subsystem, program, project, activity) concept into a preliminary and detailed design (engineering plans and specifications), performing risk identification/analysis, mitigation, traceability, and then integrating the various components to produce a working prototype or model of the system. Typical associated tasks include, but are not limited to, computer aided design (CAD), design studies and analysis, design review services, shop drawing review services, submittal review services, conducting fire protection facility surveys, developing risk reduction strategies and recommendations to mitigate identified risk conditions, fire modeling, performance-based design reviews, high level detailed specification and scope preparation, configuration, management and document control, fabrication, assembly and simulation, modeling, training, and consulting.
• Direct the gathering of user requirements and translating them into workable automated solutions. In-depth knowledge of artificial intelligence database architectures, object-oriented design, and systems implementation. Capability to assess products and procedures for compliance with government standards, and information assurance. Must be able to lead all stages of a project's life cycle, including the creation and monitoring of schedules, requirements documentation, systems design and specifications, and project status reporting.

• US citizenship with an active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret (TS) security clearance and a current access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) (TS/SCI) is required. The AI Enterprise Resource Manager/Acquisition SME will be a high performing individual who desires to work on the cutting edge of AI and deep learning and make a transformational difference to the DIE. The AI Enterprise Resource Manager/Acquisition SME will be experienced operating within fast-paced, challenging, multi-faceted projects that include diverse teams of performers, including technical, financial, analytical, and managerial background. 

Tasks, duties, and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Translating acquisition program requirements into properly priced budget submissions to support USG POM/PB decisions;
• Reviewing and/or editing justification statement for request for multi-year and no-year appropriations;
• Presenting acquisition program budget estimates to the program manager and deputy program manager;
• Providing expert fiscal life-cycle advice to program and financial management officials of the employing agency;
• Developing and/or editing spend plans by consulting with program manager and deputy program manager to support program schedule and established targets;
• Recommending effective and efficient means of using program funds
• Interpreting and consulting with the program manager and deputy program manager on acquisition Fiscal/Appropriation laws, policies and directives as they align with the acquisition strategy;
• Aligning program requirements with finding and using performance indicators (e.g., Earned Value Management (EVM)) to align with budget controls, and cost estimations data to facilitate tradeoff decisions by the program manager and deputy program manager;
• Analyzing and evaluating (on a quantities and qualitative basis) the effectiveness of line program operations in meeting established goals and objectives;
• Preparing and reviewing all program documentation to ensure financial information correlates with program objectives;
• Anticipating and/or identifying financial issues and their program implication and recommend adjustment and/or corrective actions based upon each particular acquisition phase and learned best practice;
• Analyzing new or proposed legislation or regulations to determine impact on acquisition programs; and
• Performing other related tasks, as requested, or assigned.

RMF replaces the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP). Familiarity with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for DoD information assurance systems accreditation is helpful.

Position Description  

Redhorse Corporation is expanding our world-class knowledge graphs team to support a high-priority analytics project.  The Graph Data Scientist – Level III will serve as the senior data scientist on a cross-functional engineering team to quickly establish and continuously improve a knowledge graph-enabled analytics platform to support a focused analytic mission.  The Data Scientist will lead the analysis of a global-scale knowledge graph comprised of multiple commercial and open sources data sets, supporting human analysis, applied data science, and graph-based machine learning use cases. The work location for this position is in the National Capital Region (NCR) with the possibility of up 25% local travel. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities for this position include:

• Contribute deep expertise and vision to the development of a mission-focused graph-enabled analytics platform, to include knowledge graph development and design, schema development, data science workflow development, machine-aided analytics, and graph-based machine learning initiatives. 
• Designs, configures, develops, tests, and supports informatics and data science solutions for a wide array of technical use cases. 
• Applies analytical methodologies to diagnose data-related challenges, implement solutions, and evaluate performance. 
• Documents and presents requirements, design alternatives, and findings to team members and clients. 
• Drive the adoption and optimization of integrated development environments, data integration, data visualization, data mining, and analysis tools 
• Mentor and develop junior data scientists and other team members.

Tasks, duties, and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Architect, design, and build a data acquisition platform to provide the full range of Data Description Reports to assist in the AI model development lifecycle, data collection and description, data acquisition plans, necessary Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs) defining data relationships, data set description documents, data curation processes, data set creation criteria, and data cards describing final usable data sets.
• Make necessary updates to data ontologies used to support product lines based on acquired data and the associated updates to the data management platform.
• Develop labeling ontologies to ensure data sets are capable of supporting AI model development.
• Label the data in accordance with the labeling ontologies and processes resulting in clean and usable data sets.
• Provide support during problem framing, defining necessary data sets and data fields to provide desired solutions to the war fighter.
• Develop AI data cards for all data sets used for model training and development, and manage the data cards in accordance with the Government-provided process. For new projects, new data sets and data sources may need to be identified within or external to the DoD. This data must be brought into the Alpha One environment and pushed through the labeling pipeline. Performer shall provide support and services, as needed, to assist the Alpha One team in data identification, development of the necessary MOU and MOA to facilitate data acquisition, and data ingestion into the pipeline, in addition to the services listed above.
